When was the last time you said yes to yourself?

Chronic Evolution - Taking a break

Hello đź‘‹

Welcome to the weekly Chronic Evolution newsletter, where I share mindfulness tips, tricks, and anecdotes to help you evolve your mindset in 5 minutes or less.

This week looks a little different than most. Read on!

When was the last time you said yes to yourself?

Yes to that afternoon nap your body was telling you it needed?

Yes to slowing down?

Yes to rest?

So often, we save all of those yeses for our bosses that need us to finish one more task before going home for the day. Or our friends who want to meet up when all we want to do is take off our bra and put our feet up on the couch.

Today, consider how you can make YES a response to yourself and your own needs. Does what you’ve been saying yes to lately align with the life you want to be living?

In that spirit, I’m saying yes to a slower pace this week.

I’m giving myself a moment to exhale, to step away from the screen.

I’m saying yes to sandy beaches. To more dog walks. To birthday cake gelato. To reading for pleasure. To watching lightning storms for fun.

I’ll be back with your regularly scheduled program next week.

In the meantime, you might enjoy turning this into a journal prompt:

Does what you’ve been saying yes to lately align with the life you want to be living?

“While “yes” should feel like the trademark word for freedom, it’s clear how easily it can be used to bind yourself to a life that does not reflect what you really feel, what you actually want, and who you truly are.”
